Tip from -TERESA AMBORD- “Sign up for store club cards”
-Liza Corrine’s Comments-
Okay everyone. I know several of you who don’t like to sign up for these things because you say they are tracking what you purchase OR that they mark things up so you have to sign up. Regardless of the reason if it saves you a few bucks over a period of time… maybe just maybe they are “tracking your purchases” to see what coupons to offer you when you check out. Take a moment… sign up for store club cards…

ike that before” … well it turns out that on his maybe second delivery of the morning the customer wasn’t happy with her product, threw it on the ground, fussed to the air a little bit and wished him a nice day. Poor thing… all we were trying to do is deliver happiness… I just laughed… we informed the shop of a pending call… and we continued with our deliveries… needless to say I don’t think Dr. K volunteered to deliver too many others.
re back to the shop shortly after thatWhen things in your lives seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day
are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.
When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise
jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the
jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. Then students responded with a unanimous "yes."
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. "Now," said the professor as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things--your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions--and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. The sand and and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes."
"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The
same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you. "Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first--the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."
I would like to know that there are people out there reading my blog. If you have a moment leave me a comment. If just to say hi.... or to tell me what you think of my topic for that day. I appreciate your feedback and communication.

I'm just wearing better shoes. – Oprah Winfrey –While searching the web trying to find things to help keep this series going I located this interesting article by Abel Cheng that I thought would be intersting to my blog readers. "If you would be wealthy, think of saving as well as getting." -Benjamin Franklin -
This begins my short blog segment on MoneyTalk with Liza Corirne…
Did you know that a lot of people who become wealthy through inheritance or though hard work tends to purchase used cars?
Commonly my friends tease me because I am rather an economical shopper. I have been called crazy for going to after thanksgiving sales and even my boyfriend calls me his “frugal baby”, and this is okay with me. I hope that even when I am in a better financial situation I maintain my frugal ways. I believe that we develop such ways out of necessity or greed. As for me… it isn’t greed but necessity and sometimes kind of fun.

I do not tend to send a lot of forwards as I may have stated before. Instead if I feel that the word should be spread I post it on my blog. Check out these opportunities...

11 Graham Crackers
¼ c Sugar
½ c Melted unsalted butter

1 1/3 c Sugar
4 Eggs
1/3 c Amaretto

Be sure not to open the oven until cake had baked for 1 hour. Allow cake to cool and then cover with aluminum foil. Allow cake to chill in refrigerator overnight.

By: Tom Blackwell, National PostPublished: Friday, December 15, 2006 In a discovery that has stunned even those behind it, scientists at a Toronto hospital say they have proof the body's nervous system helps trigger diabetes, opening the door to a potential near-cure of the disease that affects millions of Canadians. Diabetic mice became healthy virtually overnight after researchers injected a substance to counteract the effect of malfunctioning pain neurons in the pancreas. "I couldn't believe it," said Dr. Michael Salter, a pain expert at the Hospital for Sick Children and one of the scientists. "Mice with diabetes suddenly didn't have diabetes any more." The researchers caution they have yet to confirm their findings in
people, but say they expect results from human studies within a year or so.
Any treatment that may emerge to help at least some patients would likely be
years away from hitting the market. But the excitement of the team from Sick
Kids, whose work is being published today in the journal Cell, is almost palpable. "I've never seen anything like it," said Dr. Hans Michael Dosch, an immunologist at
the hospital and a leader of the studies. "In my career, this is unique." Their conclusions upset conventional wisdom that Type 1 diabetes, the most serious
form of the illness that typically first appears in childhood, was solely caused
by auto-immune responses -- the body's immune system turning on itself. They
also conclude that there are far more similarities than previously thought
between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, and that nerves likely play a role in other chronic inflammatory conditions, such as asthma and Crohn's disease. The "paradigm-changing" study opens "a novel, exciting door to address one of the diseases with large societal impact," said Dr. Christian Stohler, a leading U.S. pain specialist and dean of dentistry at the University of Maryland, who has reviewed the work. "The treatment and diagnosis of neuropathic diseases is poised to take a dramatic leap forward because of the impressive research." About two million Canadians suffer from diabetes, 10% of them with Type 1, contributing to 41,000 deaths a year. Insulin replacement therapy is the only treatment of Type 1, and cannot prevent many of the side effects, from heart attacks to kidney failure. In Type 1 diabetes, the pancreas does not produce enough insulin to shift glucose into the cells that need it. In Type 2 diabetes, the insulin that is produced is not used effectively -- something called insulin resistance -- also resulting in poor absorption of glucose. The problems stem partly from inflammation -- and eventual death -- of insulin-producing islet cells in the pancreas. Dr. Dosch had concluded in a 1999 paper that there were surprising similarities between diabetes and multiple sclerosis, a central nervous system disease. His interest was also piqued by the presence around the insulin-producing islets of an "enormous" number of nerves, pain neurons primarily used to signal the brain that tissue has been damaged. Suspecting alink between the nerves and diabetes, he and Dr. Salter used an old experimental trick -- injecting capsaicin, the active ingredient in hot chili peppers, to kill the pancreatic sensory nerves in mice that had an equivalent of Type 1 diabetes.Article Taken from the National Post
... the positive energy returns to the blog...Good Day Everyone out there in blogging world. Today’s topic is the age old theory of Six Degrees of Separation. My friend, Denise, was watching ABC New's Primetime last evening and decided to participate in the current Columbia University's Small World Project. This theory fascinates me for many reasons.
So if you have time please click on the links above to check out and even join the study.
... COME ON PEOPLE... be original come up with some other excuse... becuase that is what it is! Okay, maybe that is a little harsh but you too would be annoyed if you were in my shoes...
Would someone somewhere please explain to us how we will EVER get more experience if we are constantly rejected? I mean seriously, time passes, we continue to do similar things but not what we want to do with the rest of our lives… gaining experience doing SOMETHING and what are we told… Lets see … we both have Bachelors of Sciences… we both have Masters Degrees… and Penelope is even working on her PhD. (You go Girl!!) 7 years removed from attaining our Bachelors and we are getting the same responses!
We have contemplated at times omitting our Masters Degrees from our resume and replacing them with the objectives listed for our respective Masters Degrees as EXPERIENCE from said institutions, but that would be dishonest… and we would have to account for those years somehow.
