Live from Austin, TX!


I am in Austin at the Library Development Officer's Conference, ALADN. I arrived on Saturday and have met some great people with great ideas since. This year I also felt that I could share what I am doing, which also made me feel good to be able to contribute to the conversation. The 1886 cafe that is pictured to your right is where President Johnson proposed to Lady Byrd.


I am staying at The Driskell Hotel where we had a wonderful tour guide that has only been at the hotel for 6 months. Here are some pictures of things that he showed us on our tour:

Maximillion was sent to Mexico as the Ambassador when he arrived he called hiself emporer and was overthrown and killed in two months. He had the head of his new 17 year old bride skulted to the top of each mirror he had made in her honor
